Offshore 2000 Series

The
Offshore 2000 Series Multipurpose
Offshore.
We are looking for a new
owner of these production moulds at the moment.
If you have an interest
please contact Rod Baker Trihedral Hull Design by Rod Baker 2002 Our hull design has been altered to give a more efficient ride and a special, newly developed, spray rail system is positioned to give the maximum fuel efficiency (and speed) for a boat of this style. It is immensely stable and a very useful boat for inshore work in calmer water. Saying that, it will handle well in almost any conditions but it will not travel at more than about 16 knots into a head sea. ( This is why we designed the Powerglide Pro-fish deep V hull ) Attention has been given to providing more workable space within the same boat length and to do this we have designed all the craft in the range to have the engine room under flush decks.
This boat is extremely
stable under all conditions and make a superb charter boat if you don't need
to travel far and fast. More accommodation space has been provided so that the "Luxury Items" such as the sea toilet and cooking facilities can now be squeezed in below if required. The new look for the 2000 series has modern rounded styling with sharp looking tinted frameless windows and a slightly raised foredeck to give added headroom in the accommodation space. This craft uses the same superstructure as our Powerglide Pro-fish Deep V craft. The engineering is strong and simple. Complicated and over-sophisticated engineering is not a feature required for a charter boat! Strength and reliability is! Straight shaft drive is standard on all craft but other options are available if you are brave enough to try them. We have tried them all since we started in 1977 and we use the best all round system still, the conventional shaft. All engines are fitted with down angle gearboxes that will ensure the engine sits almost level in the engine room. The main full length keel that featured so heavily on the older Offshore craft has gone. In its place is just smooth contours and a shaft, propeller and protective skeg if required. Less drag means more efficiency. Without an engine box on the deck means that the Power unit will be limited to the Yanmar series of high power small diesel engines and this boat can take up to 440 hp. The general deck layout has been restyled and flush deck hatches have been designed and developed to replace the heavy, and also very expensive, aluminium hatches that we have been forced to use for years. Main engine flush hatch is easily removed for your major servicing requirements... A waterlock/silencer has been developed and built into the construction system reducing your overall fatigue caused by the constant rasp of the straight through exhaust. With economy in mind, all the bulkheads and deck components have been designed to be constructed as simply as possible from full sheet sizes. No cost savings are ever made by reducing the specification of the Hull or the reinforcement design of any of the craft. The hull lay-up schedule is basically the same as it always was for the whole of the Offshore range of craft when we used to build them Pre 2000. For the skipper/owner that wishes to finish his own craft at his own premises we can supply a complete kit of parts including pre-marked out plywood sheets to aid the simplified construction of the boats.
